Juicing Carrots are very beneficial for Cancer due to the beta carotene properties, which carry a live electrical charge, and are cleansing to the liver.  According to Dr. Norman Walker, “Raw Carrot juice is a natural solvent for ulcerous and cancerous conditions.”

Mostly all Cancer patients have a clogged liver and when you juice carrots, it will cleanse the liver and sometimes will discolor your skin a yellowish/orange tint.  The reason that the carrots have this effect is not due to the beta carotene in the carrot, but that the liver is clogged and is getting a much needed cleansing.

I have seen a few people who turned orange from juicing carrots, although they were not enlisting proper detoxification for their liver during their healing process.  Be thankful if you turn orange as this means that your body and liver is getting a much needed cleansing.  The orange/yellow tint will dissipate eventually.


Juicing vs Blending

Many people have asked me over the years which are better; juicing or blending? Juicing removes the pulp from the vegetables/fruits, leaving only the juice so it is easier to digest. Blending keeps the pulp within the juice, which allows for more fiber in your juice/smoothie. Which one you choose is a matter of preference and your current health condition.

Let me explain; if your body is working properly then juicing or blending can be beneficial to lose weight and normalize the body systems. For some people, juicing and/or blending of vegetables do not help because the body cannot digest raw foods or juices. Only you can know whether or not juicing/blending vegetables can be beneficial for you.

When I do juice my vegetables, I use the Omega HD juicer because it is very easy to clean. That was my number one reason for choosing a juicer because I was not fond of the traditional bulky juicers that are so difficult to clean. I knew that if it is more work to juice, I wouldn’t do it. When I choose to blend vegetables, I use the Vitamix. Vitamix is the Rolls Royce of Blenders and gets the job done. It is also very easy to clean.

Whether you choose to juice or blend is up to you and whether or not your body can handle raw foods in vast quantities. Happy Juicing OR Blending.

I could hear Nayelli, her 2 year-old daughter, in the background. “I want more juice!” I asked Shelly about the juice and she said she makes her own fresh juice each day and her daughter absolutely loves it. She can’t get enough of it. She drank down her second glass while we were talking and wanted even more. I asked, well what do you put in that magic juice?

Her juicing recipe has a cucumber and celery base since these are the most hydrating vegetables. This creates the liquid. Then she adds greens (i.e. kale, spinach, collards) and 1 beet with leaves. She adds cilantro including stems, and parsley. Then to sweeten it up she adds a few apples and carrots.

I know this seems like a lot of work for busy moms. And Shelly is definitely a busy mom! But she says it’s well worth the effort to make this juice for her family. She told me, “It’s liquid gold for the cells, like an infusion of vitamins and nutrients going straight to the cells. I love it!”

She’s right about that. This is concentrated nutrition. Nayelli is like most toddlers and will only eat a few things. So this gives her a lot of the nutrition she needs to keep healthy. You just can’t get this from a fruit juice box or a bottle.
